Tony and his wife Marilyn recently retired and settled in Twin Waters (September 2014) after living 11 years in Samford Valley (Brisbane) and many years in Sydney.
Tony’s career started as an advertising agency office boy in 1964 and moved through consumer manufacturing companies; product marketing to marketing & sales management before senior management and General Manager roles. During 1999 he started Freeman Marketing Services which has contracted various business and Government roles. In 2005 he took on a 3 week contract job which turned into a 10 year project helping a 2-person company grow into a national business with 4 warehouses and 60 staff working through Australia and NZ and then retired in 2014. He continues to provide consulting and coaching for small business returning business to profitability and continued success.
He was born in Melbourne; did primary school at Woolgoolga (on North Coast NSW); moving to Sydney in 1961 where he completed High School.
He competed an Advertising Certificate (1971) and an Industrial Design Diploma (1975) and then a number of part time and external university programmes followed by a Bachelor of Business Degree majoring in business management with sub-majors in marketing, law and computing (1988).
Tony has been involved with Rotary for 24 years in clubs in Sydney and Brisbane and has now joined Alexandra Headland Rotary on the Sunshine Coast. During this time he has been Club President 3 times ; worked on many Rotary Club and District committees. He has a passion for Rotary Oceania Medical Aid for Children (ROMAC) which brings children to Australia for medical repair and treatment not available in their home countries. For his work with Rotary, Tony has been made a Paul Harris Fellow 3 times!
While living in Brisbane Tony was a member of the Samford Chamber of Commerce for 11 years and worked on their executive team for 10 years finishing up as a Life Member.
In his spare time, Tony was a JP in NSW for 25 years and since the move to QLD, a JP (Qualified) since 2006.
Tony and Marilyn have been married (to each other) for 45 years; they have 2 adult children and 3 fabulous grand children (14, 12 and 9) who love to spend time in Twin Waters.
They have settled and are thoroughly enjoying life in Twin Waters.
