Good afternoon Members,

Our newsletter is currently at the printers and should be in your letterboxes soon.  You can see the soft copy here.

Safety Forum & Update from Neighbourhood Watch.

Following on from our recent Safety Forum and the Police security hints, our local Neighbourhood Watch is also warning residents to be on the lookout for online scams.

See item below.

SCAMS WARNING:

Common examples: Coles Points Expiring; Unpaid Road Tolls; Undeliverable Parcels, MyGov (Tax Returns)

If you receive a message asking you to click on a link, eg to stop your loyalty or reward points expiring, it’s most likely a scam. Clicking on the link takes you to a website designed to look like the genuine site and you’re prompted to enter your login or financial details. Then the criminals can use your information—such as passwords, credit card/banking details—to carry out fraudulent activities.

STOP: Don’t give money or personal information to anyone if unsure.

THINK: Ask yourself if the message could be a fake.

PROTECT: Act quickly if something doesn’t feel right.

If a scammer gets your money or bank details, contact your bank immediately.

Report scams to Scam Watch www.scamwatch.gov.au and www.cyber.gov.au.
