Twin Waters

Twin Waters, where the river meets the ocean, is an award-winning, master-planned community on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. It was developed from 1996 by Lend Lease, one of Australia’s leading corporations. The first land in the area, known as The Landings, went on sale in July 1997 and quickly sold out. Development in stages continued until the early 2000s and Lend Lease left in 2005.

The area of Twin Waters was first known by the indigenous people of the region who occupied the area from Mount Coolum to the river. The Toombra clan, part of the Undambi people, used the natural resources and set up encampments along the river, but moved back to higher land in times of cyclonic weather or floods. The TWRA acknowledges and pays respects to the elders, past and present, who were the first occupants of this area where Twin Waters now exists.
