Notice of Development Application

Service Station – 551 David Low Way, Pacific Paradise

An impact assessable development application has been lodged and is currently on public notification for a proposed service station at 551 David Low Way, Pacific Paradise.

Thank you to our committee member, Derek, for providing the following historical summary:

In December 2022, the Sunshine Coast Regional Council (SCRC) rejected a proposal for a fuel service station and three food and drink outlets at the same site (south-western intersection of the Sunshine Motorway and the David Low Way). The developer appealed SCRC’s decision and in September 2025, the Planning and Environment Court ordered the appeal be dismissed.

Reasons given for the rejection of the application were that the site is a flood plain, it would adversely impact the rural landscape, and the scale and intensity of the development were inappropriate for that location.

The current application is only for a fuel service station.

The application is open for the public to comment until 21 July.

Event – Coastrek 17th July

Coastrek is a hiking challenge, with participants raising funds for mental health in support of Beyond Blue. On Friday 17th July the hikers will be walking along Ocean Drive, Twin Waters.

Participants will travel in staggered waves to minimise congestion. The event utilises existing paths and public spaces.

David Low Way / Ocean Drive Intersection Construction Update

Stockland and Shadforth have advised that from mid- July, works will take place on Ocean Drive between Toyango Street and David Low Way to remove the road median island and vegetation and replace median lighting with temporary lighting.

Our fabulous committee member, and 2026 Christmas in July coordinator, Cassandra, must provide our final numbers to the Loose Goose tomorrow, this is your last chance to book!

Join us for a wonderful afternoon of festive fun, great food, live entertainment and plenty of Christmas spirit at The Loose Goose on Sunday 19th July from 12pm–3pm.

As previously advised, our Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held on Monday 3rd August at 7pm, Mudjimba Surf Lifesaving Club.

To be granted Life Membership, the Member must have given continuous outstanding service in one or more official positions or must have given continuous outstanding service to the Association in any capacity, as assessed by the Management Committee. The nomination must be submitted by two members of the Association and must be submitted 28 days prior to the AGM (i.e. 27 July).
