The 2025-26 Committee is comprised of the following members, who bring diverse interests and experience to work together, as volunteers, to make Twin Waters the wonderful community that it is:
The Executive:
The TWRA is led by a four member Executive consisting of a President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer.
Sue Smith
After relocating from Brisbane via Cairns, with my husband Greg, we are very thankful to have discovered the community of Twin Waters. Since arriving in 2020 we have made great friends and our three children regularly refer to our home as the “family holiday house.”
I am slowly moving into retirement and filling my time with grandchildren, travel and meeting others through playing golf and becoming more involved in our Twin Waters community activities. After 12 months as Vice President of the TWRA I have accepted the nomination for President for 2025/26. I look forward to this role and working with our committee to represent members of the Twin Waters Residents Association and engage people in our community activities.
Mark Hamlyn
Mark has been a member of the Committee since 2022, where he edited the TWRA newsletter in a rejuvenated effort to reach out to the TW community. He and wife Margaret bought their TW home in 2003 but rented it out while working in Sydney till 2016. Mark is a former journalist, Factual TV Producer and Executive for the ABC, Federal & State production funding bodies and independent production companies. Mark is a member of the Twin Waters Golf Club, and has taken on the President’s role to support his colleagues on the Management Committee and consolidate the past achievements of the TWRA and the Twin Waters Community.
Naomi McQueen
I’m excited to be returning to the TWRA committee, this time as Secretary.
I am a long term local, I have worked as an air traffic controller at Sunshine Coast Airport for the last 21 years and have lived in Mudjimba prior to moving to Twin Waters in 2019. My husband, David and I love living in Twin Waters with our three teenage children and our assortment of pets.
Previously, as a committee member, I enjoyed helping to put together events such as Party in the Park and The Garden Competition. I took a break from the TWRA committee to concentrate on finishing a Bachelor of Social Science (major Security and Counter Terrorism) and to run as a candidate in both the recent State and Federal Elections. I completed my degree at the beginning of the year and I am now keen to get back to work with the TWRA committee.
Christine Bormann
CHRISTINE moved from Melbourne to the Sunshine Coast in 2019 to transition into retirement. Christine loves the lifestyle, weather and beautiful surrounds of Twin Waters especially the community atmosphere. Her keen interests are gardening, walking, cooking & photography. Christine loves entertaining with friends while sipping a good white wine. She joined the TWRA to support and represent the local community.

Emilia White
EMILIA moved from Melbourne in 2019 having spent many wonderful holidays here, with husband, Chris. Now with a house backing onto the golf course, Chris is living the dream, while Emilia also learns to hit that little white ball! In 2021, Emilia edited the TWRA newsletter. She finds the Twin Waters community very friendly, loves working as part of a team and meeting new people.
Michael Stapelfeldt
Moved up from Melbourne 2 years after spending numerous family holidays and honeymoon on the Sunshine Coast. When looking for a place to settle we loved the friendly, relaxed atmosphere of Twin Waters. We are wanting to help ensure any new development in Twin Waters West reflects all the best attributes of our community. Michael is a member of Twin Waters Golf Club and we enjoy walking and cycling around our area.
Geoff Batterham
I moved to Twin Waters from Manly in Brisbane with my wife Ela in early 2021, and am very happy to be in this lively, welcoming and exciting community.
I have been retired since 2012, and have been enjoying my time with grandchildren, playing golf at least twice a week, and social activities among many other things.
My career developed from an Electrical Engineering degree straight into computer software development and support, and on to business architecture and process improvement positions, although I still dabble in electrical work for my amusement.
I am keen on participating in individual sports such as scuba diving, paragliding, sailing, skiing, squash and cycling, and have in the past enjoyed piloting light airplanes.
I am keen on punctuality, efficiency, persistence and problem solving, and hope to bring these skills to the Twin Waters community in my role on the TWRA committee.
Derek Brown
DEREK and wife Jan arrived in Twin Waters in mid-2019, following retirement after 41 years with an international oil and gas company. Originally a geologist Derek later moved into project and commercial management roles. He and Jan love the peace and quality of Twin Waters and enjoy walks and cycling. Committed to maintaining that quality, Derek serves on the TWRA Maintenance Committee and is a prominent organizer of the TWRA Gardening Competition.
Rod Morris
My wife, Lois, and I are relatively new residents of Twin Waters, having relocated here 18 months ago from our acreage property in Brisbane as we transitioned into retirement. We chose the Sunshine Coast to enjoy a coastal lifestyle while remaining close to two of our three adult sons and our new grandson.
Twin Waters immediately felt like home, offering the relaxed lifestyle and strong sense of community we were seeking. My professional background is in corporate finance, with the latter part of my career spent working in the not-for-profit sector.
Outside of work, I enjoy pickleball, photography, travel, and walking around Twin Waters with our two black and white moodles, Mini and Bo.
Joanne Reilly
Mother of four, Ethan 23, Chelsea 21, Paige & Ella 19, Joanne has been a resident of Twin Waters for 16 years and a local business owner for 6 years. The move from Sydney was an easy one, she always loved Twin Waters and she wanted to be close to her parents who already lived here. Well known for her PINK Real Estate Business and commitment to the community, Joanne is the major sponsor of the Mudjimba SLSC.
Joanne is a former committee member of the TWRA and feels it’s time to give back to the Twin Waters community again.
Karen Willett
I was born and raised in Brisbane and 5 years ago my husband Peter and I retired from the Australian Public Service and moved from Canberra to live in Twin Waters. Since retiring Peter has been active with the State Emergency Service and I have been busy helping with our 3 beautiful grandchildren. I enjoy photography, keeping fit and spending time with family and friends. We love living in Twin Waters and have made great friends in the local community. The TWRA plays an important role informing and engaging with residents and I believe I can contribute to the Association to support their work to maintain this beautiful patch of the Sunshine Coast.
Martin Haase
We moved to Twin Waters 2 years ago. Through 6 years in the Navy and 37 years with a major international engineering/construction company retiring in 2015. We have moved 25 times during my career and Twin Waters represents our favourite location. We moved to Australia in 1998 for a company assignment and have lived in Perth, Newcastle, and Brisbane (Brookfield) where we have spent the last 20 years. We have two adult children, one of whom has also recently moved to Twin Waters, and one grandson.
Now that I am retired and not moving or traveling on a regular basis, I am interested in getting involved with the local community which has never been an option before.
COMMITTEE MEMBERSHIP & APPOINTMENT
Elections for positions on the Management Committee are held at the Annual General Meeting. Positions available are President, Secretary, Treasurer and such other positions as the meeting, or subsequent general meetings, may appoint. To assist the Association achieve its goals various sub-committees, coordinators and ad hoc groups are appointed to activities such as landscape maintenance, facilitation of social events and minimising harmful impacts that may arise from nearby road and property development. There are always opportunities for members to participate in voluntary activities.
Committee members serve for 12 months, until the next Annual General Meeting in August 2027.
