Gardening Competition

Dear TWRA Members,

TWRA Gardening Competition

Entries are now open and will remain open until 5 August.

Judging will be on Saturday and Sunday 9 and 10 September.

Click on the link below to go to the Entry Registration Form, which can be completed and submitted online:

Paper Entry Registration forms are available at FoodWorks and at Living Choice Reception.

Gardens will be judged across the following categories to fit the Twin Waters mix of free-standing houses and apartments.
Applicants are asked to enter only one category:

  • Best tropical garden
  • Best formal or structured garden
  • Best street appeal, with focus on colour
  • Best tropical garden

Chief judge is Joy Pollard – a trained horticulturalist with retail and wholesale nursery and plant propagation experience. A long-term Marcus Beach resident, the committee asked Joy to judge to avoid any potential for local conflicts of interest. The other judge will be Committee member, Christine Bormann representing the TWRA.

The Process:
Approximately one week before the judging, we will notify all entrants of the time for judging each garden. The judges will wear ID lanyards during the process and be escorted to the gardens by Committee members to ensure the comfort of all involved.

The Results:
Results will be announced Monday 11 September on the TWRA website. 1st, 2nd and 3rd places for each category will be informed by email, or by phone for those without an email address.

Cash vouchers and gardening supplies will be awarded at the TWRA General Meeting at the Novotel Sunshine Coast Resort on 9 October.
We are very grateful to our platinum sponsors, Rosemount Garden Centre and Mitre 10 and to our other sponsors, Manawee Garden Centre, and Bunnings.

If you have any questions, please contact TWRA Secretary, Emilia White at [email protected]
