For a start – above we have reposted Councillor Taylor Bunnag’s Facebook notice of his Community Meeting at Foodwoorks tomorrow morning – where he will report and seek your views on several urgent local issues and decisions

Significantly, at the request of the TWRA the community consultation period has been extended by 2 weeks from this coming Friday to Friday 8 August.
If this issue concerns you, there is now an extra opportunity to express an opinion.
We note that there has already been a lively discussion on Facebook, but encourage everyone to express their views in an appropriate fashion.
BACKGROUND:
In short, the Maroochy North Shore Lions Club has made application to the Council for Anchorage Circuit Park to be renamed after the club in recognition of its service to the community, both on the larger North Shore and, in part, to Twin Waters.
We note that the Maroochy North Shore Lions Club often participates in TWRA events such as Birthday Party in the Park and also the forthcoming, Paws in the Park. Think – Sausage Sizzle.
The issue so far seems to be: that the Lions Club may be a reputable service club that serves the community across the broader North Shore, sometimes including Twin Waters, but that it is not specifically a Twin Waters organisation – and that some residents feel the loss of the existing name (Anchorage Circuit Park) will compromise local identity.
In the meantime, Lions has also expressed a willingness to contribute to the upkeep of any park named in its honour – and offers a continuing commitment to the local community.
Now everyone can have their say.

Final Results:
The final positions will be resolved and voted on at the Club’s Annual General Meeting at Novotel Sunshine Coast Resort Monday 11 August – 7.00pm – 9.00pm.
HELPING TWIN WATERS COMMUNITY CONNECT FOR THE MARATHON ON SUNDAY 3 AUGUST.
In case you missed it, we recently posted a request from the new local group – TWIN WATERS COMMUNITY CONNECT.
If Twin Waters Connect runs 2 water stations, then the organisers will give them a donation.
We are asking that people volunteer on the day to simply pass out water bottles to the runners – as CONNECT is operating ‘hydration stations.’
What we did not make clear before is the difference between members of TWIN WATERS CONNECT and normal residents of Twin Waters who may just want to come and help.
